Billing and Insurance

As a courtesy to you Alaska Marriage & Family Therapy Associates LLC can submit claims to your medical insurance plan for the services you receive here. We can bill most health insurance providers with the exception of Medicaid, Medicare, and Denali Kid Care. Submitting a claim to your insurance does not guarantee that they will pay for services. All clients are responsible for paying for the services they receive at our clinic, and any amount insurance does not pay will be billed to the client. 

There are many kinds of medical insurance plans with different levels of coverage. You are responsible for understanding your insurance benefits, including whether mental health services are covered under your plan. Not all insurance plans will pay for mental health treatment, and we encourage clients to confirm that our services are covered before their first session. 

Different insurance policies have different levels of coverage. Your insurance may require you to pay co-pays or deductible payments. We will ask you to pay any co-pays or deductible payments your plan requires, on the same day you receive services.

Our helpful Biller will more than happy to help you with any insurance questions you have once we have a copy of your insurance card to your client chart. You can upload a photo or scan of your insurance card before your first appointment using our Breeze portal. 

Our clinic is in network with Tricare, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Lyra. Not all of our providers are credentialed with our in-network insurance partners, so be sure to let us know who your insurance provider is when scheduling your first appointment. We are considered out of network for all other insurance plans and they will pay based on your out of network benefits. We may decline to submit claims to non-insurance health-sharing plans: if you have a health-sharing plan, talk to our Biller before your first session.
